EHC and Portside communities had a major win in 2021 when the Port of San Diego adopted the most ambitious Maritime Clean Air Strategy (MCAS) in California. It aims to replace heavy-duty diesel-polluting trucks at the Port with 100% pollution-free trucks by 2030 – 5 years ahead of the State’s goals.
The MCAS will have enormous impacts on the portside communities of Barrio Logan and National City where 6,000 diesel-polluting trucks drive through every month.
Now, EHC is working with the Port and neighboring communities to make sure the Port reaches its goal and we can all breathe easier.
